Tim McOsker is a lifelong San Pedro community member who has dedicated his career to improving the quality of life for all Angelenos. Tim has a long history of serving the Harbor Area, and all Angelenos, in many critical leadership roles over his three decades of experience in government.

He has been serving as the Councilmember of the 15th District after he was elected to the Los Angeles City Council in 2022. Since that time, he demonstrated his commitment to lifting up all five communities in the district that make the “One-Five.” From Watts to the Harbor Gateway, Harbor City, Wilmington and San Pedro, Tim works to ensure every neighborhood is seen, heard, and served. He will often be heard saying, “What’s good in one community, will be good for all our communities - from Watts to the Waterfront.”

During his first term in office, Tim has focused on delivering real results for the communities of the One-Five. He helped navigate a billion-dollar budget shortfall while working to protect core city services and prevent layoffs of city employees. He has been a leading voice on issues at the Port of Los Angeles, fighting against port automation to protect good, union jobs and advancing investments that benefit the surrounding neighborhoods. On environmental justice, he has stood up for port-adjacent communities, pushing to reduce harmful trucking emissions and protect residents’ health and quality of life, while advocating for cleaner operations. On public safety, he has worked to reform and strengthen the LAPD disciplinary system so it is fair, effective, and accountable, while also expanding unarmed crisis response teams throughout the district to better address mental health and non-violent emergencies. Tim also helped bring 2028 Olympic Games events to the district, ensuring the One-Five shares in the economic and community benefits.

Earlier in his professional career, Tim served as Chief of Staff and Chief Deputy City Attorney for former Los Angeles Mayor James K. Hahn. Before working for the City of Los Angeles, Tim served as City Attorney to various Southern California jurisdictions.

After his time with the City, Tim served as Chief Executive Officer of AltaSea, a non-profit advancing scientific discovery and collaboration in ocean sustainability and the blue economy, augmenting job creation at the Port of Los Angeles. As a dedicated activist committed to improving his community, Tim also currently sits on the governing boards of numerous local organizations, including the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce, the San Pedro Historic Waterfront Business Improvement District (PBID), the Bridge Cities Alliance, the Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers (South Bay), and the Linc Housing Corporation, which provides affordable housing solutions for Angelenos.

Tim is the son of Patricia and Kevin "Mac" McOsker who met and raised their family in San Pedro. Tim's father served nearly 30 years as an LA City Firefighter and his mother raised six children and was active in school and church groups serving the community. Tim's eldest brothers Mike and Pat followed in their dad's footsteps and joined up as LA City Firefighters, serving faithfully in leadership roles with the United Firefighters of Los Angeles City union. Tim met his wife Connie in junior high school and their children Nella, Miranda, Garrity, Eamon, and Conlon were all born and raised in San Pedro.
